Addressing head-on the ultimate limitation in high speed image capture, the Y6 offers unprecedented light sensitivity, rated at 9000 ISO for monochrome and 3000 ISO in color. The large 16 micron pixels result in a 60dB dynamic range. Along with the 12-bit (mono) / 36-bit (color) pixel depth the camera is able to successfully record where other high speed cameras are incapable without unwieldy lighting rigs. This reduces costs, or enhances image fidelity for those who can afford to keep the scene lit.
